Camp's Website: Harvey Scarborough reported that he was planning to discuss renewing the Camp's website at the February 2nd meeting. However, that meeting was postponned due to foul weather. He stated that he had forgotten to renew the domain name, and for a period of about one week, the website was inaccessible. He further reported that he did renew it for another two years and that the site is back up and running.
It was discussed about whether or not to continue the website. Those present all agreed that the site is important for general knowledge about the Camp, for the history of the Camp over the past several years of the website's existence, and as a communication source for those not on the Camp's email list.
Those present also desired to reimburse Harvey for expenses; however, although he appreciated the suggestion, he respectfully refused the offer.
Department of Tennessee Encampment: Secretary Engle reminded everyone of the Department's Encampment in Chattanooga to be held Saturday, March 23rd. Several members expressed regret that the Siege at Bridgeport re-enactment would be going on at that same time and that they would be unable to attend the Department's meeting. But, others present stated that they would plan to attend at least the business portion if not the whole event.
Lytle Monument at Chickamauga Battlefield: It was reported that the General William H. Lytle Camp #10, Department of Ohio has invited us to remember General Lytle during the Momument re-dedication that will be held on Chickamauga Battlefield at the soon to be restored cannonball monument marking the spot of his death on the field. This is expected to take place on the exact 150th anniversary of the General's death, September 20, 2013. Several present expressed a strong desire to attend.
James Watkins' Flag: Commander Kemp stated that he had talked with Ringgold Mayor Joe Barger and had obtained information about having a U. S. Flag displayed on the several avenues in Ringgold during Memorial Day weekend and during Veteran's Day. The cost of the flag is $65 which includes the cross with the name and War of the veteran. Secretary Engle moved to approve the purchase of the flag, Bob Dobbs seconded the motion. After further discussion, the motion passed unanimously.
It was hoped that the Camp might be able to have a dedication ceremony when the flag is first displayed.
Memorial Day Ceremonies: It was stated that the Camp would help with the sponsorship of the Chattanooga National Cemetery Torchlight Tour again this year.
