Opening Prayer: Camp Chaplain Bill Massey led the group in prayer.

Pledge of Allegiance: Commander Kemp led the group in the Pledge to the United States Flag.

Old Business: Commander Kemp reported that the last Treasurer's report stated the Camp had a $674 balance. He hoped that Treasurer Charlie Engle would be healthy enough to attend the next meeting and to give a current report.

Commander Kemp stated that the Memorial Day activities would be changed this year. Since the Veterans Administration and the National Park Service were co-sponsoring the Torchlight Tour this year, the Camp would no longer be called on to participate, either in obtaining a permit or in reading certain documents as has been customary. It was noted that the Camp would continue to honor James Watkins at both his family cemetery and at the new flag in Ringgold.

A regular Camp Meeting would be held at Cracker Barrel Restaurant during lunch.

It was noted that the Bridgeport, AL reenactment would be held next weekend. Several members indicated that they would attend.

New Business: Commander Kemp asked for any New Business. He brought up the subject of the Camp participating in any new events. Bob Dobbs mentioned that he hoped to have an appropriate service for his mother, Anna Lee Smith Dobbs (1916-2011), sometime this fall.

Commander Kemp then recognized guest Alma Webb, Regent of the Andrew Jackson Penny Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the Union 1861-1865. She brought a newspaper article showing the efforts of an Ohio schoolteacher to help restore the broken "drummer boy" monument at the Ohio Reservation on Missionary Ridge. She stated that her organization had made a monetary donation to the effort and thought that this Camp (especially since its name has "Missionary Ridge" in it) would like to make a donation as well.

Bob Dobbs made motion to authorize the Camp Treasurer to send a check for $50 to the folks raising the funds for the drummer boy monument restoration. Bill Massey seconded the motion. After further discussion, the motion passed unanimously.

Next Meeting: Commander Kemp reminded those present to make a special effort to attend the Memorial Day events.

Adjourn: There being no further business to come before the camp, Commander Kemp adjourned the meeting at approximately 2:55 PM.

Closing Prayer: Camp Chaplain Bill Massey concluded the meeting with a closing prayer.

Respectively submitted,
Harvey Scarborough, Recording Secretary
