Old Business: There was no old business to discuss.

New Business: Commander Kemp asked for any New Business. He reported that he had received an email from Herb Deloach with the N. B. Forrest Camp #3, Sons of Confederate Veterans. The email stated that the U. S. Flag at the Chattanooga Confederate Cemetery was tattered and torn and he asked that our Camp consider replacing it in the near future.

Commander Camp stated that he had purchased a 35-Star Flag for that purpose. Due to the rough weather today, those in attendance were in favor of going to the Cemetery perhaps next weekend to do the honor. However, Harvey Scarborough stated that he had anticipated going today and that he would be able to do so following today's meeting.

Commander Camp passed the new flag to Mr. Scarborough who agreed to go to the Cemetery immediately following the meeting.

Jim Fletcher Letter: Commander Camp read a letter from past Camp Commander Jim Fletcher. The letter stated that he would be unable to serve the Camp in the future due to age and other activites much closer to home. The Camp accepted the letter with much regret and appreciation to Jim Fletcher for his many years of devotion and service to the Camp.

Nominations for Officers: Commander Camp stated that nominations would be accepted at this time for officers for the coming year. After much discussion, the following slate was recommended:

Camp Commander: Jeffrey Webb
Senior Vice Commander: Mark Steele
Junior Vice Commander: Robert Dobbs
Secretary-Treasurer: Charles Engle
Camp Chaplain: Bill Massey

Council Members: Mark Kemp, Robert Dobbs and Wes Davis
Webmaster: Harvey Scarborough

There being no additional nominations, Robert Dobbs moved to accept the nominations as presented. Mark Steele seconded the motion. Following final discussion, the motion to accept the nominations was approved unanimously.

Next Meeting: Commander Kemp encouraged those present to attend the December meeting. Alma Webb invited everyone to her house at 4310 St. Elmo Avenue at 6 PM on Saturday, December 13th for a covered dish meeting/meal to be held jointly with the Andrew Jackson Penny Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the Union 1861-1865.

Adjourn: There being no further business to come before the camp, Commander Kemp adjourned the meeting at 3:09 PM.

Closing Prayer: Commander Kemp concluded the meeting with a closing prayer.

Respectively submitted,
Harvey Scarborough, Recording Secretary

November 2014 Meeting The following are photos of the flag at the Chattanooga Confederate Cemetery. At left and below, the old flag shows some of the wear and tear. The 34-star flag had several stars that were faded altogether. At right, the new 35-star flag shines brightly!
