There was no old business to report.

Treasurer's Report: Secretary-Treasurer Mark Kemp gave the Treasurer's report. He stated that the account balance from the August 6th meeting had not change except for the $20 check he wrote for the Camp's membership in the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council. The balance now is $918.90 with the exception of a few items spent for the Camp's administration and membership renewal dues received today. Of the balance, about $350 has been set aside for the new flag pole at the Kirklin Cemetery.

He noted that dues for 2017 are now due. They are $30: $23 of which goes to the national SUVCW, $2 goes to the Department and $5 stays with the Camp.

Membership Roster: Secretary Mark Kemp reported that he had just begun preparing the Camp's membership roster that would include members' veteran connections to the Union veterans in the Civil War. Unfortunately, a water hose broke while he and his wife were out of town, and their house was flooded. It took over a month to renovate the house before they could move back into it. Since they only just recently moved back in, he hoped that he can restart the task as soon as he is situated.

Website Update: Commander Webb asked Harvey Scarborough if the website has been updated to reflect the Camp's recent membership in the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council. He stated that it had not, but that he would have a link to the Council the next time he accesses the site.

Nominations of Officers for 2017: Commander Webb reported the following are the nominees for next year's officers:

John Sims for Camp Commander
Mark Steele for Senior Vice Commander
Junior Vice Commander (open)
Mark Kemp for Secretary-Treasurer
John Sims for Camp Chaplain
Council Members: Robert Dobbs, Wes Davis and Mark Kemp [see note below]

Note: It was stated that Mark Kemp should not serve on the Council since he is Treasurer. He stated that the outgoing Camp Commander usually serves on the Council. It was agreed to swap out Mark Kemp for Jeff Webb. Therefore, the nominees for Council are: Robert Dobbs, Wes Davis and Jeff Webb.

Election of Officers: Commander Webb called for elections of officers. Mark Kemp motioned to elect by acclamation those already nominated. Gary Koss seconded the motion. The motion to elect the nominees as presented was voted upon by those present. The nominees were elected unanimously.

Christmas Party: Alma Webb reminded those present that the Christmas Party will be held on the Southern Belle river boat on December 10. She stated the cost is $47 per person. She encouraged payment from those committing to go.

Next Meeting: Commander Webb discussed the next meeting place and purpose. After some discussion, it was noted that Veterans Day will be coming up this Friday. Since it has been some time since the Camp has honored the two Union soldiers buried at the Confederate Cemetery in Chattanooga, it was decided to meet there, next Saturday, November 12th at 11 AM to commemorate those two Union soldiers. A short program would be conducted; afterwards, and time permitting, the recently elected officers will be installed.

Adjourn: There being no further business to come before the camp, Commander Webb adjourned the meeting at approximately 2:20 PM.

Closing Prayer: John Sims concluded the meeting with a closing prayer.

Respectively submitted,
Harvey Scarborough, Recording Secretary
