New Business:
The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp in Summerville, GA was in the process of erecting a
monument to honor the 40 Union and 6 Confederate soldiers who were killed in the Battle of Trion
Factory on September 18, 1863 immediately prior to the Battle of Chickamauga. He said he talked
to Camp Commander Dale Mitchell (phone: 706-331-1255) and learned that the group could use
some help on the monument's funding and in its dedication, scheduled for September of this year.
The Camp was favorable toward helping out. It was decided to check with Camp Treasurer Charles
Engle to determine just what our Camp could contribute monetarily to this effort.
We voted to give $100.00 for the monument.
