Who We Are

A volunteer, charitable, fraternal, patriotic and educational organization.  We promote Patriotism, Good Citizenship, Preservation, Education, and Honor.

Patriotism and Good Citizenship

  • Encourage respect for our flag.
  • Help our youth understand the responsibilities of good citizenship.
  • Instill a sense of patriotism among all Americans.

Preservation

  • Care for and provide grants for Civil War memorials and monuments.
  • Maintain a database of Civil War veteran graves.
  • Seek out and mark the graves of Civil War veterans.
  • Locate and preserve local GAR records.
  • Support battlefield preservation.

Education

  • Teach the true history of our country, especially relating to the Civil War.

Honor

  • Promote observance of Memorial Day.
  • Commend ROTC/JROTC and other cadets.
  • Recognize Eagle Scouts.
  • Salute all who have served our country.
