Who We Are
A volunteer, charitable, fraternal, patriotic and educational organization. We promote Patriotism, Good Citizenship, Preservation, Education, and Honor.
Patriotism and Good Citizenship
- Encourage respect for our flag.
- Help our youth understand the responsibilities of good citizenship.
- Instill a sense of patriotism among all Americans.
Preservation
- Care for and provide grants for Civil War memorials and monuments.
- Maintain a database of Civil War veteran graves.
- Seek out and mark the graves of Civil War veterans.
- Locate and preserve local GAR records.
- Support battlefield preservation.
Education
- Teach the true history of our country, especially relating to the Civil War.
Honor
- Promote observance of Memorial Day.
- Commend ROTC/JROTC and other cadets.
- Recognize Eagle Scouts.
- Salute all who have served our country.
